Id help you write scripts, but I dunno how to hack one, although I am sure there are tuts if you google it, id try and find one but I'm on my phone :/. Also, shiift made an awesome tut on ps3 script writing so check that out if you haven't.

If you want to learn that stuff, I recommend talking to Shiift. I also think your ps3 has to be on 3.55 firmware to jailbreak it. I'm not an expert on ps3 modding though. Like I said, shift seems to know his stuff about the ps3 scene and you should ask him about it :)

I don't think they sell PS3's in stores that are on 3.55 or lower, but i may be wrong. Try ordering one on something like craigslist. Easier than getting one in the store, just to realize you can't do anything with it.

Actually when you but the sytem in stores in is in factory mode. So it is running on v1.00 and you can USB update it too v3.55. From there you can continue with a guide somewhere

Are you sure? I thought they shipped them at a certain firmware, because slims can't be downgraded below a certain level, depending on model.
These are for the E3 Flasher, but that's basically downgrading them, so. eh.

Ya. Then again it does depend on what system you buy. My bad thatnk you for the correction. But the part I failed to realize that not everybody out there can still run on a CFW like me. I have two systems that are LAN connected. One of them is on 3.55 with a CFW and all my backed up games and one is on 3.72 with the current firmware. So thats how Im still running CFW.
My first ps3 is a 20GN Fat system. The second one is a 250GB with a 1TB ext hardrive. SO your right. Thanks @Toxic Jew
