So, you just jailbroke your device, or want to jailbreak it? We, the avid iDevice fanatics of CL, are here to help. The Jailbreaking Tutorials, and Cydia Tweaks sections are chock-full of things for you to do to your newly jailbroken device, but there are a few things you can do now to increase your device's usability while you are jailbreaking.

First, you're going to want to get your device jailbroken if it's not already, so look in the Jailbreaking Tutorials section for a tutorial, or search google for a jailbreak for your device's firmware and model. You can also use the List of Cydia Tweaks and Jailbreaking Tutorials (http://www.codeleakers.com/showthread.php?31675-List-of-Cydia-Tweaks-and-iOS-Tutorials) thread to find any thread in the Smartphone section more quickly.
-Before asking any questions, read the Cydia/Jailbreaking FAQ. (http://www.codeleakers.com/showthread.php?35658-Jailbreaking-And-Cydia-FAQ)

Now that your device is jailbroken and you've read up on your Cydia FAQs, you're going to want to optimize your device. By that, I mean you're going to want to remove unwanted things in the filesystem and free up memory and space.
-Start with going to the thread, Speed up your iDevice. (http://www.codeleakers.com/showthread.php?31849-Speed-up-your-iDevice) This tutorial will allow you to free up a large amount of RAM on any iDevice.
-Next you'll want to go to this (http://www.codeleakers.com/showthread.php?31854-Free-up-space-on-your-iDevice) thread to delete the myriad of extra language packs included with every iDevice.
-Ever wanted to remove those pesky apps that Apple includes with your device? Go to this (http://www.codeleakers.com/showthread.php?56671-How-to-delete-the-stock-iOS-apps-that-you-don-t-want) thread to learn how to do that.
-Go to this thread, Free App Store Apps, (http://www.codeleakers.com/showthread.php?29561-Free-App-Store-Apps) to get all of those paid apps in the App Store for absolutely free. It's your choice whether you want to keep the pirated app for everyday use or use the tutorial just to test out apps.

Now that you've optimized your device's RAM, cleared out those extra language packs, and removed the Stocks and Compass apps, you're ready to start playing around with the multitude of Cydia tweaks available for your use. The aforementioned List of Cydia Tweaks and Jailbreaking Tutorials (http://www.codeleakers.com/showthread.php?31675-List-of-Cydia-Tweaks-and-iOS-Tutorials) thread will help you find what tweaks you want on your device. The Cydia Tweaks subsection of the List is divided into categories, based on what the tweak modifies. Spend some time perusing the different categories and deciding what tweaks you want to use on your device.

That's essentially all you need to do to learn about jailbreaking. Following the aforementioned tutorials and installing tweaks will arm you with the basic knowledge needed to use Cydia.

If you need any help with jailbreaking, there is a Help and Requests section that is checked periodically.

fear nailed it. I slightly updated the main post.

And also, sometimes things like this just need to moved back to the Latest Posts, not everyone looks at the sections.
