I will help guide you into being able to play your own backups of your Wii games. There are many ways to go about this but this is the method I did and will be explaining to you.
I am in no way responsible for any harm done to your system.
Requirements
- Wii Console [Install Homebrew Channel]
- Storage Device [USB or SD Card]
- Download These Files: WBFS Manager, DOP-Mii, cIOS, USB Loader GX
- Wifi
- Installing Homebrew Applications
This is a good test to see if you are capable of being able to load backups. You have to download the homebrew from above and put it on your SD Card or USB stick and have it show up in your homebrew channel.- Using DOP-Mii
Start the application.
After starting the application it will ask you which IOS you would like to use to install others. I typically use IOS 36.
After you choose your ISO the next menu will appear. It will have 5 options to choose from. Choose the first one saying, "IOS, BC, MIOS".
Now scroll through all of the IOS 249. You want to un-install that.
Reboot the Wii.- Installing cIOS
Go to the Homebrew Channel.
Load the cIOS Installer channel. You will be prompted on what IOS you would like to use during the installation process. Choose IOS 249.
At this point there will be a disclaimer, just continue through by hitting the A button.
The installation mode menu now pops up. Press the right/left arrow on the d-pad to change the option to "Network Installation".
Hit A button to install.- Using WBFS Manager
All right this requires you to format some form of secondary memory (USB stick or External HDD). I suggest anything about 4GB in size or more. Whatever you pick, please note that all the data on it will be erased as you format it.
Plug into your computer your USB and select the drive it is on. Format the memory (This only has to be done once).
This program is rather self explanatory. Load the iso from your computer and then hit the "Add to Drive" button. The program tends to shrink the size of the ISO as it loads onto your drive.- Running USB Loader GX
Plug your USB into the first USB slot on your Wii. There are two, to tell which one is the first one, have the back of the Wii face you. It should be the slot on the right.
Go into the Homebrew Channel. Load the USB Loader GX application.
Enjoy all of your games.- Extras
To get game covers and disk images just click on the covers and it should ask you if you want to download it.
Any suggestions? Send me a PM and I will add it.
