    Default question on modding public matches

    every mod ive installed only allows combat training or private matches. all i want is UAV. and when i try to enter player match it just kicks me from host. what is the problem? can you not use moded iso's and play player match? just needing some info. thanks guys

    the common_level_temp_mp.ff has a checksum on the update and if you edit it the checksums won't match = kick

    So to be clear NO mod menus work in public matches? Mod Menus are just good for fun with friends and stat editing (if you're in to that sort of thing)?

    Correct, people are more interested with new custom gametypes and they would cause problems online with host issues.
    And the MD5 Checksum is almost impossible protection to crack - anyway why use it in online gameplay you just get n00bs that abuse and crash your Wii.

    Thank you for the informative and to the point reply. As to why you'd want to use them on public, I don't have a full friends list full of hackers and acquaintances to play with all the time so it would be fun to test some of the custom game modes with the public.

    I think there are some cheats that can mimic some mod menu-ish features such as giving everyone the same gun, modifying server wide ammo (1 in the chamber), inf ammo and secondaries (sticks and stones, etc), and I may have even seen one that allowed you to modify the type of ammo the guns shoot, but I can't remember...

    I haven't seen a really good compiled list anywhere, but I guess I'll start searching for host only game modifiers so I can recreate some of the just-for-fun gametypes I see in the mod menus with the general public.

    Fair enough, maybe you can hack your ally list and make it larger so then you can have a big ally list (not done this but I've heard others have).
    You might be able to get a code I'm not sure on the restrictions of codes. In previous games it's been known to have mod menu like codes that work online.

    Use A Code And btw you can open up a mod in ff viewer and add a dvar that makes it an online game (if thats what you want)
