Default [xTuTx] Wii coding: Simple Gecko tut

Well this tut is going to cover a few basic uses of your gecko, hopefully it will teach you a thing or two

*You either need to have Wiird GUI, or GeckoDOTnet installed on your computer for this to work. I will be explaining it from the GeckoDOTnet users point of view.*

    1. Go ahead and open GeckoDOTnet, connect your Gecko to your wii and plug it into your computer. Start the game using Gecko OS and be prepared for rapid eye movement :P

    2. Go into a match, will work best in your own private match with no one else there. Start it up on any map, on any game type.

    3. We will be covering how you would make a basic inf. Lethal, this works best if you have warlord pro on, and a grenade/tomahawk and TWO tactical grenades.

    4. First step, start a search with a known value of Two, to do this you need to select 'known value' in the search box, and put 2. Now right click on the box and you should be able to conver it to Hex, do this. Why? We have 2 lethals. Now click search.

    5. Don't panic if this is your first time searching for a value! It will take a while, as it comes up with many results, I've had one come up with 2000+ results before :P

    6. Look on the right and you will have many results, but we can cut through those easily. Throw a lethal *don't kill yourself lol* and type in 1 for the search value, and convert it to hex. Refine the search with the 1.

    7. Hopefully this took the search results down to few, if you have more then 5 results, throw your last lethal and refine your search with zero.

    8. Hopefully you got yourself down to only 1 adress, poke it and it should do somethin funky to your tomahawks, if its the right adress then right click on it and take it to the break point tab.

    9. Now throw another lethal and it will show all the ASM instructions that happened up to the breakpoint. You will find a lw instruction, highlight it and change it to 'nop' which stands for no operation.

    10. Now, when you throw a lethal you don't lose one. Copy this and go to the gct code tab and change either 80 or 90 to 04 or 05.

    11. Sometimes, you will encounter something called DMA. I won't spend too much time on talking about this; I might make a seperate tut on it. DMA is a complete pain in the ass. It is when your adresses change, to various different things. Some examples could be:
The adress changing on different levels (I.e. you found the original adress on Havana but go to test it on Array and the adress has changed)
Or something like the adresses changing for different lethals, I.e. you found the adress for inf. Tomahawks but you test it with a grenade and the adress is different.
Two main ways of getting around this is using a pointer search, where you pretty much take two adresses and search them and point them to a certain location, or make ASM instructions, neither of which I care to explain in this tut but will post another tut soon about getting around DMA.

Hopefully this helps! It might sound a little unclear but makes sense if you stare at your gecko long enough :P

Tell me if you guys think my tuts are worth my time to make, and your guys time to read. If not I can easily stop, but if you guys like 'em I'll be makin more.

Well at least I have kind of a basic understanding of how it's done now, I never knew anything about making codes so this helps.

nice tut dude. just a pro tip, dont do big searches like a whole memory range i.e 90, you could possiably disconnect offline. break them up to 90000000-90A00000 or something small :p
simple (not at all) fixes to moving adresses or "dma"
    asm
    pointers
f6 (not recommended unless you know how to do it well)
    any tuts on those?
