Coding Competition IDEA
Would anyone be interested in a coding competition?
I'm thinking make it multi-platform so there's a challenge and you choose what language to code in and submit your application. This way it gives those who specialise in one language a chance. Though there may be some odd language-specific challenges to encourage a variety of coding languages; anything from HTML to C++.
I'm sure we could get points involved and maybe some other prizes, not sure I'd have to sort something out.
Just an idea for the moment so if anyone else has any suggestions feel free to discuss here.

Hmm it needs bigger guidelines I.e. could we use bases or start from scratch, what does it need to do? Is it for computer only etc.... I like the idea though :P

Some competitions might be supplied with a base and most will be supplied with some form of rules/guidelines.
I've a simple any-code trial competition I might start, just to see how well things go.

i like the idea, as i am getting into coding stuff outside of call of duty... i think this would be a good idea, it would help me learn more too by actually making stuff... you should do it where we have to make a program/application that as to do a certain task or something, and then whoever does it the best or makes the best one wins... something like that would be pretty cool... i always love competitions ...

Will the makers of "said programs" be obtaining copyright/patent licenses?? If not, and these programs have potential, they might be "stolen" by someone and decompiled and remade with another person/company's name/logo.
My suggestion would be for one or two people to be judges, and for there to be some "private" upload area or maybe make a "2 day full feature trial version" program.
Just some more ideas from programs I have used and been on the judging panel for.

Ok so private - no names - I'll sort that out.
But do you guys want public vote or judges? We could change judges every competition or something...
