Many of you may have heard of this trick, but nonetheless I feel it would be good to post here on CL. If you have had the misfortune of having a harddrive go out on you, you know how much of a pain it is to lose all your files. All you need for this "tutorial" is a freezer and an exterior HDD to transfer your files over.

1. First what you want to do is remove your HDD from your PC.

2. Go to your freezer and find a place inside of it that is empty and dry.

3. Leave it in your freezer overnight and in the morning take it out. By now, it should have all your files showing up.

*This is not a permanent fix for your harddrive. This is trick just allows you to temporarily fix it in order to transfer all your files to another harddrive.
