Most HDDs will work, my current setup includes an Iomega HDD.

Even if you get a hard drive that doesn't work with gx, you can use cfg, like me. For cfg, I know for sure toshiba works, and sandisk flash drives (what me and my dad use.) Is there such thing as a non-working hard drive? All you have to do is format it to fat32, or wbfs and it'll read if you set your IOS's up right.

I can confirm to you NOT to buy "Lexar" it doesn't work as its formatting routine is different from other brands.

Therefore you cant play games off it

Use CFG it allows you to set hooktypes. Also use a a 32gb and down flash drive it's a lot easier then using an external USB HDD.
I got multiple flash sticks even tiny ones the size of your fingernail.

Most all HDD's are compatible with USB Loader GX. I like to stick with SanDisk, though. It seems to be the most reliable brand of memory devices.

The USB lib. files were added to the applications so any HDD connected via a USB adapter would work.
I choose flash drive cause just makes my life easier SanDisk Cruzer 32GB 29.99 at staples right now.
