[PC-HELP] Laptop not connecting to the internet
I don't know what's up, I am pretty sure it's
connecting, but the server isn't respondinG or
something. At the bottom right, it has the 4 bars
then it has a triangle on it and on N&SC ( network
and sharing center it has NAME-PC and then
Identifying to the right of that. I've tried system
restore to see if its the antivirus, that doesn't
help, tried resetting the winsock catalog, I just
don't know what's wrong, can someone help?
Also, it was working fine earlier today
System Build: Dell Latitude Upgraded to Windows 7 x32 from Windows XP x32 SP 2

Have you called your internet provider? My internet goes out all the time, if you have local internet then that may be the problem and in that situation all you can do is wait for them to repair it.

Enabling DHCP should get it working. (Alternate methods are at bottom of posted link).
I would write details, but I'm on Tapa. However, you should be able to use these (even though they are for vista, should still work).

Ok. Go to the link I posted. Go to bottom where it says something like OTHER OPTIONS or ALTERNATE OPTIONS. It tells you something else to try by going into CMD.
After that, I'm out of ideas at the moment. I will continue to ask and search around though.
PS. If Windows 7 is a retail copy, call Microsoft. 1-800-MICROSOFT
