This exact thing happened to me and I learnt myself, try using CIOS 247 first.. Try 249 then. If it doesn't work, install CIOS 247 on to slot 249 and then see if that fixes it (I haven't used my wii in a year) but that should work. If not download a different CIOS with a lower 'rev'
Restore the Trucha Bug using iOS 236 Installer which you can download here: http://filetrip.net/f23428-IOS236-Installer-5.html. Once it's done installing, you choose the option "I have no need for piracy", or it will turn the bug useless.
Now use ciOS Installer and install it with iOS 236 (the trucha bug). You can download it here:http://filetrip.net/f23351-cIOS-Installer-Xr21.htmlMake sure you select iOS 57 as your base during installation.
Now try Installing 236 onto slot 249 (IF USB loaders doesn't work still)

Then, format your HDD with wbfs manager, and right click and select games to put in.
If I remember correctly, cIOS 249 is needed for MW3. I am new to the Wii scene, I used to be a ps3 player but I sold it n got a Wii(Ppl call me crazy )
Connect your usb hdd to the OUTERMOST USB PORT(VERY IMPORTANT) of your Wii, then turn on usb loader gx, and your games should pop up. I suggest you get the channel version of USb loader gx

You've two options; format your drive to WBFS and use WBFS Manager to add games, or have you drive formatted to NTFS and your games into folder called WBFS.

WBFS formatting your drive is old, and no longer needed.
FAT32 or NTFS is the way to go. Since that way, you don't lose the use of the drive for other things.
WBFS was used in the early days of Wii modding becuase the other formats were not supported. It's just not needed or recomended anymore. thumb
And by the way. WiiBackupManager is what you need. :h:
