There are no hackers on the Wii except for those that use their USB Gecko to go into other people's accounts.
What you usually have on the Wii are coders and modders.
Anyone who says their a hacker on the Wii are more than likely just a leacher.

At the moment, only a few people know how to log onto other's accounts with their gecko's. I just make codes. I've never really made any mods from scratch - just edited them. However, I don't release them due to edits being frowned upon. The guys who make the mods put a lot of work into it only to have someone else edit it and release it as their own.

Most of the so called "modders" on the wii dont know anything about modding, all they know is how to edit a few scripts.

Well here is the difference,
Hacker- breaking the legal agreements to modify system firmware
Modder- you must hack at least once to become one, these people modify the files inside games and things of that sort
Coder- these are the ones who make the codes and write the homebrew applications; people who makes mod menus can be put in this category
That's really quick definition. And when people ask if I hack the Wii, I say yes. I don't go into saying, "I'm not a hacker, I'm a modder or coder." They just get all confused.

Hacking is unauthorized access into secured areas. (Accounts, websites, etc.)
Modding is what you would classify modifying a consoles firmware, mod menus, or hardware mods.
Coding can be classified as writing scripts or creating codes.

You're all wrong, well you're not; but I like to refer to the other definition of a hacker - "An enthusiastic and skillful computer programmer or user."

People used to say "Cracker" then it just became "Hacker".
Before that I think it was codebreaker, $hi7 goes back to
the old cipher machines ppl would crack them and then
be able to read data off of it. There is a famous one called enigma
look it up.
