Ok first off, i can talk to others and they can hear me. They can talk and i see the green mic pic thingy, but i cannot hear them. Now, i have looked it up and seen vids where most of the time if you cant hear them but they can hear you, that on the inside of the mic the red wire is cut. They say just to tape it back to the spot for it. well the only problem is, the red wire inside my mic is not detached from anything. so the red wire is ok. is there any other part of the mic that helps with sound. Or am i just going to have to buy a new one?

You'll more than likely have to get a new one if you have no idea how to actually tear it down and build it back up working.

Do you have pets? Maybe something bit or cut a section of the cable else where than the base of the headset?

This is why I never liked wired headsets, too much pain to keep it in working condition.

It could be broken anywhere, have you tried plugging the headset in and just moving the wire around just to test it.

If you do end up getting a new headset, can you send me the broken one so I can tear it apart and test a few things?

I don't feel like using my working one just in case it fries somewhere along the line of testing.
