Default Scared to download and run programs?? >>READ

Sandboxie is a proprietary sandbox-based isolation program developed by Ronen Tzur,
for 32-bit Windows NT-based operating systems. It creates a sandbox-like isolated operating
environment in which applications can be run or installed without permanently modifying the local or
mapped drive. An isolated virtual environment allows controlled testing of untrusted programs and web
    surfing.

Sandboxie runs your programs in an isolated space which prevents them from making permanent changes
to other programs and data in your computer. When you run a program on your computer, data flows
from the hard disk to the program via read operations. The data is then processed and displayed, and
finally flows back from the progam to the hard disk via write operations. Sandboxie changes the rules
such that write operations do not make it back to your hard disk.

Intercept changes to both your files and registry settings, making it virtually impossible for any software
    to reach outside the sandbox.

Traps cached browser items into the sandbox as a by-product of normal operation, so when you throw away the
sandbox, all the history records and other side-effects of your browsing disappear as well.

    Benefits of the Isolated Sandbox:

Secure Web Browsing: Running your Web browser under the protection of Sandboxie means that all malicious
software downloaded by the browser is trapped in the sandbox and can be discarded trivially.

Enhanced Privacy: Browsing history, cookies, and cached temporary files collected while Web browsing stay in the
sandbox and don't leak into Windows.

Secure E-mail: Viruses and other malicious software that might be hiding in your email can't break out of the
sandbox and can't infect your real system.

Windows Stays Lean: Prevent wear-and-tear in Windows by installing software into an isolated sandbox.

Translations: The following languages can be selected during installation: English, Albanian, Chinese (Simplified and
Traditional), Czech, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brasil), Russian and Turkish.

    * Support for Synaptics trackpad scrolling and Logitech SetPoint mouse horizontal scrolling.
    * The Run Sandboxed dialog box expands vertically to accomodate a longer list of sandboxes, and includes a
new Run Outside Sandbox option to bypass Forced Programs.
    * Messages SBIE1307 and SBIE1309 issued less frequently.
    * Improvements to the stability, robustness and performance of Sandboxie.
    * Improved support for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows Vista and Windows 7. Support for 64-bit Windows should now
be on par with 32-bit Windows.
    * Improved support for Microsoft products: Windows Media Player 11, Windows Office 2010, Windows Live Mail.
    * Improved support for third-party security software: McAfee SiteAdvisor, avast! Antivirus, AVG Anti-Virus, Blink
Internet Security (64-bit), Kasperksy Internet Security, Online Armor, Panda Cloud Antivirus.
    * Improved support for third-party applications: EMClient, Internet Download Manager, JetStart, LastPass,
Linkman, NVDA, ShortKeys Lite, VirtuaWin, WinAmp, Xobni Plus, Zotero

    Sandboxie v3.65.04 (x86x64) + patch
The patch is a FALSE POSITIVE, meaning.. IT WILL NOT HARM YOUR COMPUTER. However...
If you don't want to use the patch, and use the free version with less features, go ahead
and download it from the Sandboxie website.

    Same here bro.

Had to hop on my Linux partition, load up a Virtualbox of Windows XP, then load up a Virtual Machine of Linux, then open up Wine to run Sandboxie, then run Firefox in safemode and finally go to this thread while behind 13 proxies.

Not to mention I had my finger on the computer's power button the whole time just in case something was going to happen.

Lol the only thing you forgot, was the condom bro.

    But on a serious note..

Running programs sandboxed is fine and dandy. But what if the virus is binded with a legit file? You open and run it, think it's legit, use it a few times, and start thinking it's ok to run it outside of sandbox. Boom, you just got raped. I know you can install things into isolated sandbox dir and whatnot, but people get careless after time. I don't know about everyone else, but I don't want shit I don't trust on my computer at all unless I have it there for a specific reason.

can you read. It was originally made for the NT versions. The newer versions support 32/64 bit win 7/vista comps.
