[Discussion] New Super Mario Bros. 2 [3DS]
"The Nintendo 3DS will be receiving more Mario in a few months. During his Nintendo Direct presentation, president Satoru Iwata announced New Super Mario Bros. 2 for the handheld. It'll be out by the end of the summer.
Like its 2006 predecessor on DS, NSMB2 seeks to recapture the "traditional" Mario experience. It's a side-scroller in which players can control Mario, Luigi, and "loads of other favorite characters." You stomp on enemies, smash bricks, and collect coins. Some of the moves from the 3D games also appear, such as triple jumps and ground pounds.
It's not clear how this game will vary from the previous game, other than the 3D support. The press release mentions that the game will be accessible to "players of all skill levels." Perhaps they'll introduce New Super Mario Bros. Wii's Super Guide feature, which helped struggling players find their way through a level."
