Post [TUT]How to make a minecraft server

    Windows users only!!!
So the first things you need to make a server are these to start out
    Stuff you need are:
    Minecraft Server Application
    A Wireless internet modem(for ports)
Need to know something about computers

Step 1: Download and run this: Minecraft_Server.exe (802 KB)
Step 2: When you run it it should look like this:

Step 3: Now go down and type in stop and it will stop and close the application. Also make sure you have a folder on your desktop called minecraft server or something like that. Put the minecraft sever application in that folder.
Step 4: Next you will see these folders and .txt files after you run the application:
Step 5: Open the server properties file with Word or Notepad. This should pop up:

Step 6: Change the settings to true or false depending on what you want so if I didn't want monsters to spawn I would change true to false same with evertything else. *Tip*Change online mode to false if people are playing offline versions or launchers of minecraft.
Step 7: Now save that and go down to the windows menu and type in CMD and a box will appear. THen type in ipconfig (no capitals or spaces) and go down and look at your IPv4 address and use that end number on it for example: 143.34.5.64 you would use the 64 at the end and write that number down. Somewhere at least.
Step 8: Now look at the Default Gateway. Open your internet browser and type that gateway in the URL bar. Then you will be taken to your modem site. Depending on the modem you have you may have to log in like NETGEAR.
Step 9: Next just look around in your modem site until you find something called Port Forwarding. This also may look different depending on your modem.
Step 10: Next click on add new port or something like that. Then you should see what you want to call the port, start port, end port, and TCP setting box. Then name it minecraft server then put this as your start port and end port: 25565. Keep the setting at TCP. It wiil also have a IP box and change the 0 on the end and change it to the number you wrote down.
Step 11: Now apply and reboot or just apply. Then that part is done.
Step 12: Now open your browser and go here:http://www.ipchicken.com then it will show you your IP for you minecraft server.
Step 13: Open Minecraft and go to multiplayer and add a server then add the name of your server and the server address will be the one you got from IP chicken. Then add it then your server should be up and running.

    Some extra tips:
If you want a 24/7 server then leave your computer on 24/7.
The more people you have on your server the more laggy it will be:/
Also if you have a online server download Hamachi here: http://secure.logmein.com/products/h.../download.aspx Find out how to use it its very simple. Click here: http://bit.ly/JDUIio Also get the unmanaged because that is free.
