What am I missing? codes load but do nothing
I've lurked here for a few weeks reading post after post, all the stickies too. Googled 'till my eyes hurt. Finally I admit defeat. I'm ready to be flamed as a useless noob. So be it...
Sorry for the long post, but I figured it was better to provide too much info than some cryptic incomplete crap.
No problems, everything works fine
Seems to load up and function just fine. When I power on the Wii the BootMii menu appears, I can select OS, Homebrew, etc. Works without a hiccup. I select Homebrew
Homebrew loads fine, does what I expect it to. So in Homebrew I choose Gecko
Gecko seems to load fine. I can check and change settings. YES, I'VE ENABLED "OSSleepthread". I also have SD Cheats: YES and just for fun, Bubbles On: YES.
I used OC Code Manager to create GCT from a text file. I've pasted an example below. Deleted the \CODE folder on SD card and let Code Manager copy to SD. Seems to work fine.
I put SD card in Wii and choose Launch Game. I get the message that codes were found and applying. Game starts. But no matter what code I use, they do nothing in-game.
What am I missing? For example, in the code frag below I expect to be able to select a semi-auto weapon and in-game choose the Home button to switch it to full-auto. But it doesn't work! I've tried a dozen codes, none of them do anything despite Gecko saying codes were found and applied.
Am I missing a piece somewhere?

You might have sm8e52 codes?

If you have an NTSU copy of MW3, then I wouldn't try using PAL codes.
But that's just what I'm guessing is wrong.

Basic by the book Homebrew install, copy Gecko to SD card and run it from Homebrew, compile GCT files with Code Manager and copy to SD... are there other mods I still need to find and install before this is supposed to work?
When I created the text file I copied and pasted codes gleaned from various websites, blogs, etc. Apparently my text file had some non-printing control char in the content that was screwing with the way Code Manager output the file. I deleted the file, started from scratch with a fresh ASCII file and manually typed the headers and codes. All works as designed now.
Many thanks to "[Hackrz]Jiminy" for suggesting I look for rubbish in the input file!
