Just use the "Dx2 CIOS installer" app for homebrew. Install CIOS 249 base 57 and don't change anything else.

Oh, your usb may be messed up. What i did to fix that was un-format your WBFS drive and put your homebrew applications on it. Then on the homebrew channel, switch to your usb device. If the homebrew channel loads the homebrew applications from your USB, re-format it to WBFS and continue modding the way you used to.

Make sure your USB is in the slot closest to the outside.

Its freezzing in-game, or during the loading? If its during the mounting of the drive, have it unplugged when you start cfg loader, and when it starts to count up, then plug it in. If it doesn't mount it, unplug it and try it again, without turning the wii off. Once its mounted, it should work fine. If its freezing in game, try changing the IOS. I use 224 mload base 57, and it has never failed me

Use WiiFlow, or USB Loader GX.

WiiFlow is really good and it loads codes too.
