The gfx "prefix"
I think it's stupid to correct the gfx "prefix".
If the person wants to make his title have "gfx" in it, than let him/her do it.
There's other things to worry about, I don't think gfx should be one.
A lot of websites of people who have been doing graphics for more than 10 years, use "gfx".
Sometimes people have "gfx" in their title, and they have not corrected the other errors.
If you don't like the GFX prefix, then you don't have to make people not put it there.
If you don't like it, then you have the choice not to use it.
There's no actual rule not to use it, so if you want to use it because it's faster, then do it.
I'm not saying everything in my rant is possibly correct.
And just a coincident I just want to point out, in manga they use the prefix SFX for sound effects.
Yet, there's no "FX" in it. But professional people use it to explain something, the noise; but nobody tells the author to not use it.
You don't have to do what I said, I'm just saying I don't think you need to correct or listen to people.
(I'm also not pointing fingers)
For the lazy ones
Just an FYI, this is an opinion, and a graphic related discussion.

Video game designers use sfx, fx, gfx, etc. as variables in their game scripting.

FX is short for effects, hence Sound Effects = SFX
and Graphics =/= GFX
Unless you think it's Graph Effects
Just FYI, I don't really give a damn at this point.

I think the prefix is annoying, why must you have a prefix in a section when everything in the section is graphic art? The point of a prefix is to separate different categories in a section, like how the prefix's separate different games in the NTSC section. A prefix in the graphics section has no point unless you had different prefixes for different kinds of graphic art. Putting a stupid prefix in front of your title doesn't make your art look any better, or you any more professional. Be original and stop putting the same shit as everyone else. The new graphics kids only do it so they can feel like they are part of the graphics team. You just made an entire thread about keeping a pointless prefix for no reason.

I don't use the prefix, I'm just saying what I had on the top of my mind.
I didn't say people who used the prefix are professional.
How does using a
community-madeprefix makes them feel like they're on the graphic team?
This is a discussion, I want to discuss, I don't think having a talk is pointless.
I'm using this sub section for what it was made for.

I thought about this for a bit too. I thought the site was uncensored telling people they can't use and say what they want is breaking one of the founding rules this site was built on. If they want to use it let them use it. There's no harm done. If it pisses you off get over it the site doesn't just run around you.

I like the name GFX cause we are adding effects to graphics that we find online.

The gfx "prefix"
Regardless if you have your game prefixes Elijah there's always gonna be those dumbasses looking for it and have it be right in front of there face.
A prefix is a prefix. Deal with it. Or make a thread about t and watch how NO ONE is gonna care.
