    Whats a good diagram for a topographic model? I need some ideas on what to do!

    That's basically what a topographic map looks like. It's basically a standard map with the names of the places labeled, a compass, colour & a legend.

    not even close. a topographic map shows elevation of the area based on how close or far away the contour lines are

    Oh ok. It's was just the first picture that came up on Google Images. So I figured that's what a topographic map was. My Geography teacher hasn't explained what a topographic map is yet. Now when he asks me what it is, I'll know.

    Topography is for Earth Science. Im having a project that is due on the 1st of october. So im trying to make a nice SMALL design for the model that Im gonna make.

    a topographic map is based on elevation as Grey said, usually its is a bunch of lines representing dips in elevation. i would find a picture but im to lazy for now. just show the elevation by drawing curved lines around the different elevations, then you mark the elevation on the line. Dont listen to andrew.

    if you are doing a 3D model, then do the same thing, represent elevations using the rule of topography, in a 3D model.

    A topographic map is a map composed with contour lines that are separated by a contour interval and has various things such as depressions.
