Try to stay away from bluetooths. They suck and bring in a lot of unwanted noises.
Also you wanna try to stay with stuff made specifically for PS3, Sony made would be good too.
Awhile back my brother got a headset made by sony. It was a full fledged headset; ear muffs, and a mic comming out of the left muff. It had nozzles to adjust the volume, and for online play it had a nozzle to tune out all noise so you can only hear voice, or tune out voice, or just leave it in the middle. The thing I liked about it was, there was no syncing required for it. It comes with a USB stick that you plug into the playstations port and boom, it's ready to use. It was simple to charge, you would do it just like you charge a controller. Now he got his for $80 but it was on sale. Now they go for about $120, but trus me, it's worth it. They don't break easily either. They usually have them at gamestop and wal mart. Maybe target.
