Be Unique .
I've mentioned this to Nizar quite a few times so he knows what I'm talking about.
You guys are doing graphics well but you're all failing at one thing: your own style. Everyone needs something that makes their work stand out from the rest so when they see it, they know who it is simply because of that style. This isn't something that happens over night or something you can learn; it comes from within you.
With that being said, look at tutorials an add your own flavor to it. You all follow tutorials to the letter. Don't do that. Tutorials are made to be a guide for something simple. You take the tips and tricks from the tutorial and apply bits and pieces of it into your work but be creative. And I'm not talking about color scheme, I'm talking about making your work different but still show that you learned something from the tutorial .
This is a basis of how I picked my GA's honestly. I knew they each had their own unique style. Vinyl being the only one with more than one. Renji is an effect whore who uses parts of the render itself to blend everything together and make it work. Retro by far has my favorite style because of his simplicity; it's so simple but amazing and I love it. Stride is working on a style. But what's gotten my attention is how everyone is copying Strike's style. It honestly pisses me off when I see a sig like Strike's but it's not him. He has a great smudging and lighting technique and it's wonderful. His color choices could sometimes use work but nonetheless they're great.
My style deserves its own paragraph :P My style is something I picked up from Maniak kinda. It's simple yet busy at the time. I.E My ToD and Kanye sig that I'll post later. It's something that takes a while to master and I haven't done it yet. I've master the style of vectors but need work on Vexeling. B&W I take to a whole nother level but my personal favorite smudging is the my toughest. I haven't had the time to perfect smudging.
You can master other styles but you have to make one and be unique. Like a Pitcher in baseball when he's in a jam; he goes to his go to pitch. His strongest pitch.
Just please take this advice and I hope all you the best.
P.S Strike, edit this thread with the smudge tag I posted in your VM's .

I just found something myself that looks really nice in my work
I agree with what you are saying when you are watching a tutorial you dont have to do everything 100% the same way as the "tutor" is teaching.
Good post man

I can't really tell myself much, I just really like to put the renders in the middle... I use the same style when putting the render in the middle.

Thanks for the advice Slave. I will work hard by trying to establish my own style. This whole thread has made me think about my work. Lately I have just been trying to get the hang of things but now I know that I must do what I did in the beginning. Test out things and hope it turns out good.

I think I have my own style that nobody has on here and Gp is trying to steal it. Idk I've taken a little break in GFx because it seems that I'm not improving and I see others around me improving and it puts more stress on me to do better then I do worse.

I can tell I have my own sort of style in my drawings. When I look at them they have that certain thing in them that makes it mine. I think it's how I make sharp edges, rather than curved stuff.
