Default PS3 Shutting off randomly ?

This has been happening to me for a while now, but now it's happening like every 5 minutes.
When I turn on my PS3 everything is fine and all, and then 5 minutes later it just shuts off.

When I get into a game or when I start to load it up, my PS3 just randomly turns itself off. So when I restart it, it will ask me to restore the data, because it may be corrupt (but it isn't). So after I restore it, I start up a game, and the same thing happens it shuts down by itself.

    Btw, I have a Slim PS3

You're not the only one who's had this problem, according to Google this happens because your PS3 is overheating.

I unplugged the cord and left it like that for a day, left my window open (letting in all the fucking cold ass wind in) and it still does the same thing, I don't know if that's the problem

Might be signs of the YLOD. Hopefully it doesn't get the YLOD soon, but it's all I can think of.

Either your PS3 is over heated or your Hard drive is corrupted or have a lot of dust. Try taking out your hard drive and clean it. If it doesn't work you'll might need a new Hard drive that is the exact same size as the one you have.

Put your typical house fan behind it, and have it blow directly into the PS3. I remember this working for my PS2 back in the day when the fan built in it fried.

Could you buy a cooling fan like the ones used for computers? Just wondering.

Letting your window open doesnt mean the fans of your system are working properly.

If it runs into thermal runaway your systems electrical will destroy itself.... so safety wise it shuts off before that
