Very interesting, Now astronauts can get too planets and new ones faster . Even us if there would be a disaster, if they can find one with life.
It is going to take a very long time in my opinion, even if they did make this. There goes trillion of dollars I bet.

I'd rather the government use money on things like this that will advance us in technology, instead of them spending it on war.

Well since our economy is in the shitter it could be a while. NASA could try to get funding from somewhere else, but still. Extremely plausible though. This could revolutionize the plant and its population. Gas engines? Miniature warp drives. It would also greatly expand the knowledge of our universe. Hubble would be gone as the astronauts could actually see the galaxy in 1 year. Big companies like Amazon ( a.k.a SpaceEx ) could also either fund NASA or try some experiments themselves. Amazing ideas and i sincerely hope that in 25 years i can move space around me.
