My old computer won't get online.
Well, for a while now my CPU has had problems getting online, and I tried to fix it but everyhting had failed I belive it is to do with the IP address because it is most common w/ the brand CPU I have, witch is a 2001 Compaq Windows 7. if you have any ideas, or sugestions to help me out it would be much appricated.

First off, why is it in the graphic section? Wrong section lol.
Just go into connections and setup a new one and it will give you an option too type in one that is already established most the time and if not. Take the router and take the internet cord and plug it into your computer. If it is wired or wiredless, you should have a router.

Are you positive the drivers for the said network interface that you're trying to use on that computer are installed?

First of all, it's computer, not CPU. A CPU is a processor, and a part of a computer. It has nothing to do with getting online.
A Compaq is not a CPU, it's a model of a computer. An i7 is a CPU, for example.
