Default How do I get free apps on my iPod touch?

So installous is down as you probably know, so I tried out appcake, but it closes as soon as I open it. I'm an apple product noob and I have no clue how to do anything. I want to get apps for free instead of paying, because I will never pay for an apple product or support them. The iPod is a 2nd generation (I know, OOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLDDDD!), and it is on ios 4.2.1. Thanks for any help.

I downloaded IfunBox, then I connect my device, and hit install application.
you can go here do get apps.
    http://ipastore.me/index.php?act=applisting
but there are many others. Plus you can do it straight from cydia if you have a app for it, but I find it much easier to load from funbox.

if you need detailed help we can get on skype or there are tons of vids on youtube showing how to do it.

There are alternatives you can try, like this: http://www.codeleakers.com/showthrea...e-new-IPASt0re!

Or you can download the .IPA files yourself, and use SSH to both transfer them to your device and install them, although this takes a bit of technical knowhow.

Personally if the developer did a good job on an app, I see no reason not to throw a buck or two their way. Apple does take a percentage cut, but that's no reason to hurt aspiring devs who worked hard.
