Default THQ Auction Day. Here's where your favorite IP/Studios are going to

As you may or may have not heard, THQ is in a lot of financial problems right now. The once great publisher lost around $100 million on its failed uDraw gimmick and couped with failed sales projects the publisher acquired Jason Rubin from Naughty Dog to help. Sadly he didn't help the company much as THQ shut down quite a few studious and delayed most of their games. THQ was to be bought by an investment bank for 60 million but creditors disapproved of the sale calling it a fraud. A judge intervened and called for an auction. RIP THQ.

THQ Assets being sold (IP + Studio):
-Volition: Red Faction & Saint Rows
-Relic: Company of Heroes & Dawn of War
    -Vigil: Darksiders
-THQ Montreal: Unannounced AAA game by AC creator
    -WWE
    -Metro Last Light
-South Park: The Stick of Truth (RPG)
    -Homefront 2
-Unannounced AAA game by Turtle Rock Studios

    Latest News:
As of earlier today THQ is no more. The company's assets have been divided and auctioned off to the highest bidder. Curious to know what properties went where? Here's the breakdown (via Kotaku).

South Park License; South Park: The Stick of Truth is due for release March 5.
    Winning bidder: Ubisoft, $3,265,306

    WWE (Unconfirmed so far)
    Winner: Take Two Interactive
    Backup: EA

Curiously, Darksiders developer Vigil Games wasn't bid on at all, according to twitter value investor Distressed Debt Investing, who had been following the proceedings in person. This leaves Vigil's staff without a job - at least until some publisher somewhere makes an offer. However Platinum Games is interested in buying the IP.

The auction is complete. Quite a few surprise bids from Koch Media and Sega. But it's good EA and Activision didn't get anything.

Vigil hasn't been bought but Platinum Games is interested.
