Is there a way, when coding a .batch file, to make it open up a Notepad or a .txt file?

You code it in Notepad and save it as .bat.

Exactly, but is there like a command to make it open a .txt file?

@Waffle, is there supposed to be something before the command? Like echo or whatever?

No, this just opens a Notepad with the provided file. Remove the path to open an empty notepad. Thought that was what you wanted :S Or are you trying to read from a txt file?

Little bit. Where it say file.txt in the command, could I replace file, with the name of the .txt file?

Yes, you can do something like:
    Code:

Ok. Now when I add the command, where exactly would I add it? After the pause, cls, or between pause and cls?

No idea what you mean, since I have no idea what your batch file will do. Just put it when you want the text file to open.

Okay. Is there a way that when it opens it, it can't edit the .txt file?
