    Default programming with ptp: L2; c++ variables & basic data types

    if have not read previous tutorials, do so... otherwise you will get stuck dumbass

    a variable is a letter...

    here is a variable in an expression: x+2=100; x=98

    a variable can be a letter(s) or a word

    program below:

    Code:
    #include <iostream>
    #include <windows.h>
    #include <string>

    using namsespace std;

    int main(void)
    {
       //between the curly braces of main everything is local, meaning only that function can use it
      //anything outside of a function is a global, anything has access to it

      int a; //integer (whole numbers) variable identified as the letter a
      float b; //float is a real number (decimal number) variable identified as the letter b
      double d; //double is the same thing as a float just a wider range of real numbers, variable identified as letter d
      bool e; //boolean variable identified as e, only two number can go here 1 or 0, 1 being true and 0 being false, you
      char f; //char variable identified as letter f, char holds a single character such a the letter f
      string str; //string variable identified as str, string holds a line of text such as hdkbfkjh but you need #include <string>

      a=2; //a is set equal to 2
      b=2.3; //b is set equal to 2.3
      d=3.4576; //b is set equal to 3.4576
      e=true; //e is set equal to true which is 1
      f='f'; //f is set equal to the character f
      str="hdkbfkjh"; //str is set equal to hdkbfkjh

      cout<<a<<endl;
      cout<<b<<endl;
      cout<<d<<endl;
      cout<<e<<endl;
      cout<<f<<endl;
      cout<<str<<endl;

      system("pause");
      return 0;
    }

    You should format it so it looks nicer, something like this. That way proper indentation and so on.

    Code:
    #include <iostream>
    #include <string>

    using namsespace std;

    ...

    You added very vague and mostly incorrect comments.

    This is not a tutorial.

    okay guy, not for you if you understand already, smh, just gonna let you think you know it better than i do even though this is my major and i have been programming ever since 2010 :|, also if it was so "vague", you would have caught an error every time depending on the IDE. i also don't think anyone would post something they are uncertain about, just saying...

    Oh, that's super cool. If you're such a master programmer, why are you making threads teaching about simple variables on a site filled with WiiTards? Also, most "Master Programmers" have close to perfect grammar.

    Yours is no where near.

    Also, I love how you half-assed the comments after I pointed out that there was no real tutorial.

    My guess is, you looked at your join date(Closest date on your page.), and decided to say that's when you started.
