Success In Ouya’s Eyes
As you all know the Ouya is an Android based game console which began life as a kickstarter project and a successful one at that, with plans to begin shipping out later this month. Now it appears that the Ouya has caught the eye of some developers, but it is still an uphill battle for the company since Ouya plans on moving from their core audience into a bigger marketplace.
Earlier today at Nvidia’s GPU Technology Conference, Ouya founder Julie Uhrman talked about how well the console would need to perform to be considered successful in the company’s eyes. “My [definition of] success for Ouya is that we show momentum month-over-month,” said Uhram. “Every month we’re selling more units, every month we’re getting more games, every month people are playing those games longer, every month there is a must-have game. That’s success, at least in the first year.”
“My goal is for everyone who loves games to know that Ouya exists,” she continued. “My goal is to have innovative, exclusive, unique content that you can’t find anywhere else.” Near the latter Uhrman stated that the hardware in Ouya would be upgraded “closer to the [yearly] mobile refresh rate than the console refresh rate.” Sadly there wasn’t any information about what to expect hardware wise in the Ouya. Hopefully we can expect more information to become available throughout the coming weeks.

Yet they're still wanting to use games like Minecraft and shit like that, “My goal is to have innovative, exclusive, unique content that you can’t find anywhere else.”

I'm so getting this. They actually seem to want to omptimize this for the users, and not just for profit. Wii is Wii, Xbox you have to buy XBL and PS3 just isn't for me.
I have high hopes for this.

I'd buy it, get bored of it, root it and then use it as a webserver.
Droid based = It might suck for games, but not other shit. Shit that isn't possible on a Xbox or PS3 without dishing out money to hax it.
