    Default "Tagging" people?

I got the idea that maybe there could be a way of "Tagging" people in a thread or in a single post so that they will be alerted when getting tagged. If you dont follow what im trying to say, here's an example of what im trying to say: Ex. "I think Goober makes good art." I would be tagging Goober there. So he would get an alert that he had been tagged in a thread, which would make him look at the thread/comment he was tagged in. This would be a good way of getting multiple peoples attention at once.

You might be thinking, "Why not just vm or pm them?" But i find this being highly inefficient if you're trying to get certain peoples attention on a single thread or post pertaining to them or maybe something that might be in their interests.

You might also get the idea that the newbie's to the site may abuse this if it was implemented, but i think it would be a good idea if that issue were to arise, would be to give only diehard/elite the permission to do this. Idk if thats even possible; but its just an idea.

I actually don't even know if this was already suggested and rejected, but i just thought it. So what do you think?

This would be awesome. Maybe like two methods of tagging people, such as one you exhibited, and then maybe one as you make the thread, similar to regular tagging "Games, Playstation, xbox" etc.
    Great idea.

This suggestion, again. I'll just copy and paste this from the Staff section:

It would be abused like hell by all of the 12 year olds here, and people would just turn it off as a result.

Private/visitor messages aren't there for nothing, use them. I can't express how annoying this would be in every post:

Whether or not you received a notification for it is irrelevant, because these posts would still exist on the forum as nothing more but desperate cries for attention, and there's enough of that as it is. Never mind that the server would take a beating.

Thats really why i suggested making it only so diehard/elite could use this function. Usually, when a person hits elite, they are GENERALLY mature and know how to handle themselves on this forum. They know not to do that.

And being a section moderator, i can't exactly view the staff section, so i had no idea.

Diehard and Elite status is a sign of one's intelligence and maturity now? I thought it was just an indicator of the amount posts someone has. TBW must be a genius then.

And yeah, this has been suggested outside of the staff section before. The staff section was just where it was most recently suggested, hence and I copied and pasted.

Irregardless or not, you can tag people that have Tapatalk and they'll get the notification like if someone quoted you. @Beaver
