Since Battlefield 4 is getting a ton more pre orders than Call of Dogs: Gh0sts, the smart guys at Activision have come up with an idea to boost their pre-order sales. YES, a free pre-order map. Sadly it has nothing to do with ghosts or dogs and is called "Free Fall".
In other words, it's taken Activision 2 years to realise they have to copy EA's Frostbite engine and actually cause "real-time destruction." But with a 10 year old engine (same engine as Quake 4), I'm finding it hard to see how it's possible.Originally Posted by Activision

Reminds me of the skyscraper map in battlefieled 4. With real time destruction!
im going pre-order it hmmm
they just dont get it.
BF4 = triggered destruction by the players... even thought its scripted a player can cause it at anytime.
COD = lets have destruction that just happens around them and they have no part in!
Okay Call of Duty: Ghosts now Call of Duty: Dogs? ***gas be money thirsty Bruhh.
:lol2:
Battlefields had this since 1943.
Regarding the game engine; no one designs their own engine from scratch just for one game in a series. No one. Everyone uses heavily modified versions of original engines; I don't understand why everyone complains about how games are using old engines when literally everyone does it. It takes too much time to redesign an entire engine when you can just modify what you have to make it better. Obviously it's not the exact same engine from Quake 4, because it's been heavily modified. Just like Skyrim used a modified Oblivion engine and Twilight Princess used a modified Wind Waker engine. Everyone does it, it's nothing new.
Doesn't make the game any better, but it's something to keep in mind.
