Ubisoft Not Interested in Games That Aren't Franchises
It appears that Watch Dogs will be the first entry in a long-running series, as Ubisoft's senior vice president of sales and marketing has said the company won't begin any projects that can't be turned into franchises.
In an interview with The A List Daily, Tony Key explained that the cost of creating games was now so great that Ubisoft has no interest in creating standalone titles.

This is going to impact game production big time, game quality won't be high-end , but still from the other side , I think more brains involved , better diversity will reach everyone out there expecting the game.

This game looks like it is like GTA on another level IMO. I expect nothing less of Ubisoft without turning it into a franchise. Just look at Assassin's Creed, arguably one of the best series ever. Can't wait for this game .

not like ubisofts stadalones where anygood anyhow (anyone remember the horrid games they output to wii)
