Default I need some help deciding on this pc change

So i put my pc up for $1400 on gumtree to see how much people would offer. Baring in mind i built for $900

    (550 - 900)

Its a nice offer, but the thought of selling the computer saddens me that ill lose all my personal settings ecetera. But i could build a pc better than most people here with the cash.

Im drawn bettween, though the buyer insists on paypal, what scams can be going on through paypal and him collecting it.

Buy another hard drive, clone your hard drive to that one, now you have all your stuff. You'd have to format if you got a new motherboard, though (at least typically).

If he's using PayPal there's a chance he could get the PC and then chargeback. I'd get him to send it to a second PayPal (either one you have or the one of someone you really trust), and then funnel that money to yours, so that if he does charge back you don't lose the money in your main account and risk getting it limited. Sending $1400 through PayPal all at once is risky though; I'd much rather cash if it were me, just to be safe. He could be planning on sending the money, getting the PC, and then filing a claim saying he never received it. There's a lot of things that someone can, and will, do through PayPal to scam.

If it is shipped get the stamp though paypal. Then you get a tracking number. If he truest to open up a case you can use that number to your advantage. In fact you will win the case. Because you are the only one with prof that you sent it.

Now if its hand to hand. Get cash.

Sent from the depths of my mind.
