Recovery Media is like a boot disc that would run the system reset.
To get this disc, you would have to download the software and externally put it to a disc then when you boot up with F8 it will be ran after you click system reset.

Don't use the disc that the machine came with it will most likely install bloatware and shit you don't need.

Just download an ISO of Windows 7 (version doesn't matter, keep reading). Burn it to disc, boot, and install Windows (but not on the partition with the backed up files).

It doesn't matter what version of Windows you get but make sure you pick x86 or x64 (x86 = 32 bit, x64 = 64bit). I can get you whatever version you want from there, and activate it.

Alright well I'm x64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium (pretty sure), but first I need to find something that can hold windows. How big is it, 20gigs?
    Thanks for all the help.

You have to burn the ISO to a disc, then boot from it. You could use a flash drive that's at least 4 gigs and boot from it off that. A regular Windows 7 ISO is about 4 gigs itself.

Alright I might have a USB laying around, I'll go look for one.

Found an External HDD, the same one my mom told me was not here (go figure)

What do I need to do, just get a Windows 7 ISO?
