    How does it have nothing to do with it? The iPhone 4 (compatible) has the EXACT hardware as an iPod 4 (not compatible), but the only difference is the RAM..

    I should rephrase that, sorry, itactually is because of the A4 chip and the ram that is build into the iPhone 4. Apple did make a 16GB 5th generation iPod touch for $229, for 4th generation users to upgrade. Keeping in mind that with the 16GB 5th generation iPod touch, you won't get the 5MP iSight camera or iPod touch loop, but you do get the upgraded hardware specs (Dual-core A5 chip, 4" Retina Display, FaceTime HD Camera, longer battery life) + iOS 7 for only $30 more then the 4th generation.
