Should YOU upgrade to the new iPhone 5S?
Before I even say anything, I got the 5S about 2 days after its release. Jumping from an iPhone 4S, I saw HUGE improvements.
But the question is: Should you upgrade?
It depends, really. If you are eligible for an upgrade and are on an iPhone 4 or earlier, I HIGHLY recommend it. If you cannot afford the iPhone 5S, go with the 5C- as that will be a noticeable upgrade (huge speed boost, Siri, and an extra row of apps. O: )
For iPhone 4S owners, it's up to you, really. I hated my 4S because the battery itself didn't last long. If you do upgrade, you will notice a great speed boost, but not serious (few seconds difference).
Now, for you iPhone 5 users out there: Well, some of you are on contract still, so it isn't possible, unless you want to pay up the arse to get out of your contract. The iPhone 5S isn't much faster than the 5 now (not noticeable much), but in the future it will be. Since most apps are built on 32-bit still, you won't see the full potential of the iPhone 5S until next year probably.
TL;DR: If you have iPhone 4 or earlier, yes. If you have iPhone 4S, maybe....and if you have a 5, NO.

I'd get it, but it seems a little expensive for something that doesn't seem to be that big of an improvement over what I have now.

Nothing wrong with a good old fashioned flip phone though
