Nintendo stops production of the Nintendo Wii in Japan

Nintendo Japan has announced that production of the Wii console has ceased, with the product page listing the console in Japanese as 'production ended'.
The Wii console launched worldwide in 2006, and has gone on to sell over 100 million units worldwide.
It is not yet clear what this means for worldwide Wii production.

That is old news. Nintendo stopped wii production in Japan in 2010 when the red wii was released......(the last Japanese wii's to be made in Japan)
All Nintendo Wii's are made in China. And will remain in manufacturing until Nintendo releases their next console.
Nintendo Wii to this day dominates the WiiU in sales by 4 to 1. Why this Japan stopping production just hit public again as if it just happened is beyond me.
Japan stopped production of the Wii when the Wii-u rolled out for production.(end of 2010) Hit the market on November 8th 2012. Re tooling and redesigning the production facility took over 6 months. Why the Wii-u wasn't released earlier.....Well I don't know.
