    There are these lines vertically colored and horizontally white. Help please!

    • Unplug the monitor and everything connected, pretty much unplug everything
    • Check settings on monitor
    • How old is the monitor? It could be going out.
    • Try different cables and see if the problem still is there.

    If none of that works, provide the monitor specs. Make, model, manufacturer, etc.

    How do I check the settings on it?

    I would say it sounds very much like a motherboard issue. I worked as a repair tech for about a year, and I can tell you that this sort of thing does happen. It's pretty uncommon with a place that takes the repair side of things seriously like Dell does, but it does happen.

    it really sounds like you may be dealing with a faulty LCD. Also, hook up an external monitor to the computer. Does the issue occur in the external monitor?

    EDIT:
    It can either be your monitor or your video card is going bad.

    If it was a motherboard or video card, it would look different. That's a faulty monitor more than likely.

    i dont think ur monitor is the problem...... onboard graphics or ur agp or PCIex mayb.
