something that just hit me. - graphic artists > coders
Around the time i got leader, there was alot of pressure from admins and community to keep the graphic artists active and kick the ones who werent out, even if they deserve to stay.
Now in contrast heres a coder group with 0 activity and no pressure on them to work as theres no threat to lose their position.
Welohabi, for example got coder in january and didnt release 1 code since getting the position.
And to think i felt completely pressured to retire respectively. Someone should really review them imo.
Im posting this in here to avoid bandwagon drama and to just point it out.

When the groups were created they were made with different expectations. Coders aren't required to post codes, it has always said that in the application outline. Whereas GA was set up with higher standards, the groups were ran by two different people. So obviously requirements and standards are different.
It's like comparing a potato with a banana.

I do partially agree, if they aren't active (within reason) I do think they should be stripped of their status. I was going to bring it up in the next meeting, but I guess this thread will have to do.

I agree with this I haven't seen coders do anything in a while.

They are gained through showing unique abikity to make art / codes and are there to help contribute to the respective forums.
Only differences are one group is active is strict yet coders are lazy and undeserving. Admins wanted josh to leave GA for inactivity but overlooked the 90% of coders who havent contributed in over a year.

Coding is dead, if we removed coders for not posting codes there wouldn't be a coder group at all. The site was founded on coding, so no matter what the coding section and it's coders will always be there. You're talking about stuff in the past when I wasn't even admin, things have changed shit isn't ran how it used to be. Those people are no longer admins.
GA's standards were set high by Josh, not by the admins. If you want to complain about the GA standards then you should have changed them when you were head GA. Complain to Josh about it or talk to Goober since he is the new head GA.

Coders used to be taken out if they stopped coding, but this was a while ago. Now every now and then we just remove Coders based on their activity on CL. I dont know about you, but i sure as hell am not taking my psp out to code, thing has been off for years. Imagine how weird it would be for you to take your wii out and code/mod, but times 10, because psp died before we invited the wii scene here. Any coder who has ever retired themselves never understood how this system works. If you are active on the site, you can keep coder, because we understand things die out. Graphics on the other hand, will always have that activity requirement because it doesnt require a system/console besides a computer, if even that (you can draw and paint and shit too i guess). They are two COMPLETELY different groups.
