Maybe have a virus, advice?
I am pretty sure someone in my house hold might have downloaded some sort of virus or something of that manner. every once in a while i click and a website will pop up, sometimes i see ads on the bottom of this site, and some words are highlighted in green and try to lead to some random site. i am doing a scan right now but i actually dont have an active anti virus software i usually dont need one since i am so careful but i suppose whoever downloaded something is not. Does this sound like a virus? can i get rid of it without virus software?

Sounds like a simple browser hijacker. Does it open up random pages sometimes, change your homepage and install toolbars?
Try to look for some software you don't remember being on your computer and that you know you didn't install. They are usually hidden in some kind of fake anti-virus program.

Adware, clickjacking, I would get noScript and adblock+, or whatever the equivalents are for other browsers, and look into an antivirus nonetheless. Mbam would most likely take care of it. RevoUninstaller is also a comprehensive program for uninstalling unwanted and unneeded programs, goes through a deeper search than the 'Uninstall/Remove Programs' in control panel would, assuming you're on Windows.

Check your browser cookies as well

Install mbam and run a scan on that. Should get rid of any malware/adware on your computer.

Somewhere on here I posted link to install and keys to malware bytes pro. Just remember to disable your add on that you didn't install and remove it before you run your full scan. I would look for conduit, or eseeky, or some sort of shop something on your addons.

Lay off the porn.
Seriously, get an adware add-on for your browser and check your cookies and you should be fine.
