Thread: Need suggestions

So I want to build a PC and I've never built one so here's the parts I wanna buy (not including monitor or OS)
So now that you have this info are some of these parts not compatible or are there any parts I could get cheaper?
or any suggestions in general on what pieces I should upgrade for PC gaming
Also what OS do you recommend W7 or W8?

First off, spend just a little more. You'll be glad you did.
Here's a good motherboard for you set up. It's also dragon approved. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...140322120733:s

As far as the os goes, always get the newest version when it comes to windows. (windows 8)
But if you need to cheap it for a while most games work on linux mint. Hell I think steam works on linux mint.
So, if you need to improve your console you could just use linux mint (cinnamon)
and all should be good.
With that motherboard you may need to look at different ram though. (I didn't look to see if the pins on the one you selected are compatible with that motherboard)
Other than that I think everything else you selected are completely compatible.
