Announcement -- OFFICIAL CL MINING POOL!!
This is happening. It's already in testing phases. I have a server up and running MPOS (its the pool software). I had to go off-site as shitgator is shared hosting and i need root access.
So then the question begs, what coin(s) do we mine?
Also, I am going to need some hashpower to officially test when its time.

No coins are really breaking out, I think it's anyone's guess as to which, if any, are going to get big. Theoretically, any currency that gets widely accepted will prosper, like btc. But, since btc is already the dominant, I'm not sure any will emerge as much, and even if they do, the others will only decrease in value. The top coins right now are btc, doge, lite, ripple, aurora, and peer.
http://www.cryptocurrencychart.com/ has some good info, there are plenty of sites like it, and forums like https://cryptocointalk.com/ that are centered around cc. With asic miners out, it's going to take alot of clients with good gpu's to make a dent in the hashes, not that it can't be done. I would choose a few of the slightly lower value coins and hope they hit, or play safe and go for peer or lite which already have > $1 value established.

btc isn't even worth mining right now if you have 1 rig. You would need to spend a fortune on asic cards to even make a dent. Like contra said right now peercoins, doge, aurora, and ripple seem to be prospering. I know that could all change very soon and probably will change by the time i get my rig built, but at the moment i think doge would be the coin of choice due to it's easy "minability."
Made an account on that pool last night btw.

Great to hear though right now I can't get into mining, may build a rig after summer depending on how mining is then.
