Default My school project (Building a Gaming PC)

Back Story: Basically, My school is making us do a project on anything we want to learn or do. I was thinking hard about the topic because I don't know what I want to do. At the moment I was lost, I don't even know what I want to major in college (going to college as undecided). But, All I know is that is has to do something with technology (Computer). It came across my head that I wanted to build a gaming PC since it also good for producing art, music, movies, and etc.

My budget is low but I just willing to build a gaming PC around 600 dollar that I don't have yet. But, I going to ask my parent to help me out with the money.

Part I am considering buying: * click-able link on part*

    *Graphic Card* PNY - GeForce GTX 760 - $241.98
*Power Supple* AMD PC ATX Power Supply - $39.38
*Disk Drive* Samsung Internal - $22.19
    *RAM* 8GB 2x4GB Samsung Server Memory - $26.99
*Others Card reader* 3.5" All In one Internal Card Reader - $5.25
    *Computer Case* APEVIA X-TROOPER Junior Series X - $39.99
    *Processor* AMD FX-8320 - $149.99
    *Mother Board* ASRock 960GC - $54.69

*Note - This is going to be the first time building a pc*
*I Plan on getting a blue-ray disk drive later*
*Note - I have a extra Hard- Drive at home*

I already have a wireless mouse and keyboard. Not to worry about speakers.

I figure that I need to go a bit hard on processor and graphic card (my opinion that makes up a gaming pc)

Will this be a enough for a gaming pc?
    Anything I need to change?

Distortion is right. That PSU looks like it's going to fall apart. Check out this PSU: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...683&CatId=5431 You can get a 2 year warranty on it for only $7 USD...

True, but not just for servers and laptops, you can get DDR2 desktop memory. And yeah, Grey is correct as well, that ram won't work.

Don't get that motherboard, it's got a terrible cooling system. Check this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157479 Yeah, I know it's newegg, and yeah they're a bit more expensive, but you get what you pay for, good stuff. Everything I've bought from newegg has always been perfectly packaged and worked perfectly right out of the box.

If that board is too spendy, just shoot me a PM and I'll hit you up.

Spend your most money on a power supply, trust me on this one. A power supply takes the harsh AC current from your wall socket and constantly conditions and regulates it for all your delicate hardware to use. If you get a cheap supply, you'll spend more time and money replacing your hardware.

Make sure the hard drive you've got is a SATA drive and not an IDE drive.
