How do I delete large text conversations?
I have a large conversation on my Galaxy S4 that's full of texts. My texting app has been slow lately and I think it is a result of all of the texts. When I try to remove the texts with conventional methods (i.e. selecting all and deleting, deleting thread, and even clearing the messaging app data), the phone either crashes or it simply doesn't affect the texts. I'm hoping someone could point me to the location of an internal file holding the texts or some other method of fixing this problem. Thanks.

Try wiping the phone.

Have you tried clearing your messaging app cache in -> settings -> apps -> message app (click the tab CLEAR CACHE) ??
Have you tried changing the msg app settings to "delete older messages" or set the "message limit" LOWER than 200 ??
Or final test.. Go into your factory recovery mode and clear "system cache" ??

You could also try using another text messaging app. I had that problem with the stock app, so I installed Textra and deleted it from there.
I ended up using Textra as my default app, too. It's really nice.
