Lancer or Firebird?
Its a 02 lancer real clean and there selling it for about 1700. Going to check it out later this weekend.
Then the firebird. Dont know much about it other than its my dads friend and its parked in my driveway. Its a fixer upper. Has a dent in the side. Needs to be cleaned on the inside and out. Dude bought some rims on it but there way too big I think they may be grinding on the car+ plus it needs a new tire also. Then its white with some orange pinstripes but the pinstripes are coming off a bit. Dude wants 2000, but I feel I can lower it to atleast 1200-1300.
Upload photos later today if I have time.

Well with the lancer comes fuel economy. With the firebird comes fun. Well if it's a v8. The questions you have to ask yourself are: Do I want to pay high insurance payments? Do I want to spend alot of time working on a car before I get to drive it? Do I want fuel econ or power?
That being said. If the lancer is driveable there are tons of mods to put on that will add plenty of power.
Now you are stepping into my world.
I hope it's a stick.
This is mine.
It's a 2003 mitsubishi lancer es with an evo body kit. Painted silver streak mica (toyota camry silver)
Tons of mods. As in the upgraded port/polish head. Turbo kit, stage III nitrous kit, Ect.
Fun fun car.
So if it were me I would go with the lancer.
Update edit: thanks for this post. You just got me curious about looking and well I am heading to buy this.
My next project. This one will be for sale when finished. (since the valves are toast due to being a zero tolerance engine I will be doing the same upgrades as my current one)

I was leaning towards the lancer. I feel that it would be a fun car. If I did get it I would slam it. I'd keep the spoiler and rims it already has. Then maybe in the future add a turbo and a body kit.
Guy says it has no problems, but ima check it out first.
@fatal it is stick.

Go with the lancer dude. I've drove one before and they're pretty fun to drive especially if they have a good performance kit installed. Good luck with getting a turbo though. Lol.

They really are quite capable cars. And turbos come real easy. Just at a cost. Anywhere from 1800. to 6500 Edit: My next build will be cheap as hell. I just found these.
http://www.ebay.com/bhp/lancer-turbo-kit $500 for entire kit what kind of voodoo is this? depending on how much boost, intercooler size...ect.
Check these out.

The dart is in good running condition and don't need any work done to it for it to be street legal and ready to roll down the street.
I would have suggested the firebird also... If he had a job or the funds to fix it up.
