I'd personally go with a full tower and an i5, since you're paying $200 for the proc anyway, but that's just me.

A decent 320 will sound the exact same as a FLAC to the vast majority of people . Everyone hears slightly different & we don't all use the same speakers / headphones .
However in the same breath , A FLAC is the best you can get , therefore if you upgrade your setup and have an ear for these things , a lossless library of music would be the way to go .
Personally , i have not found a lossless that is noticeably different from a 320 .
That's on a pair of Kef carina II's with an pioneer amp
Then a BOSE Acoustimass surround setup
Now its on a yamaha amp and tannoy DC2000 speakers . On all of the above i never notice a real difference apart from the way the amps handled the sound . Set it on straight with all levels equal and the sound is pretty much universal to me .

and about the 970, i personally wouldn't get it due to the previous controversy about the vram issues. i'd wait till the r9 390x series comes out and drop cash on that. dat hynix stacked hbm yo. but that's a hypetrain because it's all been rumours (from what i've read)
but if you need a graphics card soon, then i wouldn't get the 970.
