Thread: Laptop Cooling
06-16-2015, 11:46 AM #1
I looked up ways to have my laptop run at cooler degrees but they haven't really worked. The only one I haven't tried is those fans that go underneath the laptop.
These are my temperatures just idling at the desktop. Measured with Speccy.
These are my temperatures if I was playing a game such as 7 Days To Die or Battlefield... whatever
It cuts the performance soooo much.
I have tried unplugging the battery and just having the charger in.
I have it lifted up about 1 inch so that an airflow gets under it.
Please dont post stupid answers like pour water on it for liquid cooling and such, yes I know I need to get a real pc as well.

You can't measure AMD temps with Speccy.... you need to download AMD's program.

Open up laptop, clean off the shitjob of paste application the factory often does, apply new paste PROPERLY, clean dust off heatsink. Enjoy cooler temps.
@skai/coyot3 : Core Temp is what I used on my AMD fx6300 and it works fine

fuck that shitty ceramic thermal paste they suffocate those chips with, get some silver compound and you're set.

Okay I will replace thermal paste. Would it be worth it taking all the innards out and putting them into a real PC case? With more fans and such
