Works amazingly with Java, though some of the pre-generated code such as comments, copyright (that you fill out on your source code indicating that it's your code), etc. is annoying, but I work my way around it.
    Ok cool. Thanks!
I'm gonna start with JS so how do you recommend I begin to learn?

I'd recommend you not start with JavaScript.

At this point, learning Java is somewhat pointless. The language isn't thriving. If you want to do Minecraft or Runescape shit, then yea, go for Java. Other than that, C, C#, or C++ would all be much much fucking better.

Netbeans has a lot of annoying features, I do agree, but it somewhat helped me begin learning a little of Java. And yes, there better IDE's out there than Netbeans (just for beginning)

And yes, C#, C++, etc. are better and stronger languages for developing software.

    Welp. I just got owned.

What are you looking to get into? In most things c language and all it's variants are what is commonly used today. They just make calls to already existing java when it is needed to run.
But a very good place to start would be here. http://www.w3schools.com/js/ or here http://www.codecademy.com/en/tracks/javascript
And for all your C needs here: http://www.learn-c.org/
Just remember you wanted to learn this so no skimming. You need to pay complete attention and actually understand what you are doing and how/why it's done that way.
And the absolute best way to go all in on Java would be to install oracle linux on your pc as a workstation. http://www.oracle.com/us/technologie...iew/index.html
It's what I use. (but I am nobody so that really doesn't matter)
Java is used almost in everything everywhere. It's just people use other coding and just call to a javascript. And that is why it's not the choice language for most.
And why it really would depend on what you want to achieve with programming as to whether or not java would be the best place to start learning.
But ultimately one should learn the U programming language. https://github.com/upcrob/u-programming-language
