    Ok. So I decided to start out my programming with learning how to make minecraft mods. So if anyone has any programs or anything that could help, then I'd greatly appreciate it!

    Since you have no idea what you want, let's go by age.

    Teens/early 20's:Rails, Js, Go, .NET(C# primarily)
    Career Medians(30-50): Java, C++
    Older(50+): C++, C, Perl.

    Now breaking down why.
    Tens/early 20's:Web development and quick simple programs.
    Career Medians(30-50):Whatever the job asks.
    Older(50+):Approaching retirement. Doing whatever tickles their fancy.



    A lot of people come into programming with the idea of "I'll learn this language, and my programs will be great as long a I take the time to learn!"

    No. Your code won't impress anyone for a number of years. You need to go into it without comparing yourself to other's.
