Thread: Laptop down

My laptop died 6 weeks ago. It was working fine, I left it running (charging also) while i went out for an hour came back and it wouldn't start. I figured the laptop charger done broke. I ordered a new one. It didn't work. I took to a store, they told me my laptop is too mighty for them to fix as they wouldn't have the parts for such a monster of a machine. He said it is more than likely a lil fuse in the input of the battery charger and its blown. what do yall think?
I assumed it suffered a powersurge? But this typically would impact the battery/charger or in a worse case the motherboard..? No?
Correct me please.
I'm currently waiting to come into money from somewhere mythical, so that I can get him the help he deserves.

i've had a laptop do this before, it was due to a bad board. ive got one now with water damage that's giving me a similar issue.
when you press the power button do any lights or fans spin? if that's the case, then the processor could be shot or your ram could be bad. that's just my conclusion.
if nothing else happens, then your motherboard is most likely dead due to heat or poor thermal paste appication OR a power surge which is pretty rare.
when it's charging is there an indicator light? maybe the ribbon cable to your power button might have come un-done.
there are a lot more scenarios, but these are just a few off the topofmy head.
